Journalling Care

Journalling Care is a long-term research project that explores how disabled voices can contribute to anthropological theories of care, unsettling taken-for-granted assumptions to “refocus and transform thinking” around care. This research is grounded in collaborative workshops, which use arts-based journalling to co-theorise care alongside other young disabled people.

These theories were underscored by the context of an uncaring society, as participants conceptualised care withing contexts that often did not seem to chare for them. Instead of settled answers, this project sustains a reading of care as complex and unsettled - while putting forward an argument for methodologies of care and the inclusion of disabled voices.
